Whilst Apple announces generally robust results, particularly iPhones, there was dissapointment with the Apple Watch results, although unknown it is estimated that Apple have sold 2.7m as opposed to the forecast 3m-5m.
Elsewhere Microsoft saw a drop in results mainly due to writing off the $7.6 billion acquisition of Nokia however with the launch of Windows 10 in two weeks and the recent success of Office 365 there are reasons to be optimistic.
The tech behemoth reported strong sales of its signature phone in its third-quarter financial report – fully 47.5m iPhones, up more than a third year-over-year, for a net revenue of $31.4bn. Sales in China were particularly robust, doubling from last year. Mac sales reached 4.8m units, up 9%, and the company sold 10.9m iPads, down 18%. Gross margin came in at 39.7%.
